In 2013 Barilla decided to export the Mediterranean Diet overseas by opening the first Barilla Restaurant in NY. It was a success, and the food company expanded the venture, opening more venues in New York and then creating a franchisee model to export all over the world starting from Dubai. The Ad Store was chosen as creative and strategic partner to raise the awareness of Barilla Restaurants as ambassadors of “Italian friendliness” while promoting a sustainable food model where typical traditions meet innovation and technology.
